Wanted motorist intentionally crashed into police SUV in Los Angeles: LAPD

A Los Angeles police officer was transported to a local hospital after a driver intentionally crashed into a patrol SUV in the South Park neighborhood of Los Angeles on Friday, authorities said.

The incident occurred during a traffic stop at the intersection of East 45th and Wall Streets around 11:15 a.m., the police said. Los Angeles Police Department published on Xformerly Twitter.

Police said “the driver intentionally put the car in reverse and hit one of the officers.”

Aerial video from Sky5 showed the rear of a white four-door SUV embedded in the grille of an LAPD cruiser.

A police officer was transported to a local hospital. No information was immediately provided on the police officer’s condition or the types of injuries sustained.

A perimeter was established to search for the driver who fled after the accident.

The video showed a second person, possibly a woman, sitting on a sidewalk while apparently being arrested by police.
