Lizzo’s shock announcement as she leaves the music industry

American popstar Lizzo left the music industry because she was tired of being ridiculed online because of her looks and character.

The About Damn Time singer, real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson, does not specify what she is referring to or what prompted her online statement.

However, it comes a day after a lawyer, who represents three former dancers who filed a lawsuit against Lizzo last August, said it was “shameful” that the singer headlined a fundraiser on Radio City for President Joe Biden “amid such egregious allegations.”

“I’m tired of being trolled by everyone in my life and on the internet,” Lizzo35 years old, said on Instagram.

“All I want to do is make music, make people happy, and help the world be a little better than I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want to not from me.

“I am constantly faced with lies being told about me because of my influence and opinions…and I am the butt of the joke every time because of the way I look.

“My character has been criticized by people who don’t know me and don’t respect my name.”

She ended the post by saying, “I didn’t sign up for this shit. I quit,” with a peace sign emoji.

Last August, Lizzo and her production company were pursued by former dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez, who accused her of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment.

At the time, the pop star described the allegations as “extremely difficult and extremely disappointing,” adding that the claims were “as amazing as they look“.

On Thursday, Lizzo appeared at New York’s Radio City Music Hall for a fundraiser in support of the US president, hosted by Mindy Kaling.
