Couple Injured in Rashee Rice Crash Reportedly Ask Their Lawyers to Stand Up: ‘They’re Angry’

There’s a lot to untangle in the crash allegedly caused by Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice’s car, and it appears at least two people involved don’t want him to get away with it lightly.

A Dallas couple injured in Saturday’s hit-and-run collision allegedly involving Rice has hired an attorney and is considering their legal options, according to the Dallas Morning News. The two were apparently on their way to a friend’s 50th birthday party when two vehicles, one of which reportedly contained Rice, crashed into their white Lexus SUV.

The couple’s car reportedly spun across the highway until it hit a wall (you can watch the incident on video here). Both men were reportedly taken to hospital and are currently recovering at home. The woman reportedly suffered a “significant laceration” above her left eye that required several stitches to her eyelid, as well as a swollen and bruised right leg, while both are experiencing post-concussion symptoms.

Excerpt from the Morning News:

“They’re angry about the situation,” Walker said in an interview. “From our perspective and theirs, it doesn’t matter who the people are, but just the element of human decency. The decent thing to do is make sure no one is harmed and follow your legal obligations.”

Other victims of the crash included a 27-year-old woman and her 4-year-old son, whose Hyundai Accent remained “impossible to drive”, as well as another victim in an Uber that was destroyed.

Rice released a statement Monday confirming that he was involved in the accident, that he was cooperating with authorities and that he would “take all necessary steps to address this situation in a responsible manner.”

An important question regarding the accident is whether or not Rice was driving the black Lamborghini involved. According to TMZ, he also owns the black Corvette from the accident, but rented the Lamborghini from a company called Classic Lifestyle for the price of $1,749 per day.

Kyle Coker, an attorney representing Classic Lifestyle, reportedly told TMZ that Rice was the only person authorized to drive the Lamborghini and that the recipient texted a promise to pay for the destroyed car after the accident.

The people in the two cars that caused the accident were reportedly filmed fleeing on foot. The Chiefs and NFL confirmed they were aware of the situation, while police are still investigating and have not officially identified any suspects.
