Chance Perdomo, Star of ‘Gen V’ and ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,’ Dies at 27 – National | Globalnews.ca

The actor Chance Perdomo, whose notoriety only grew amid his success in Generation V And Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, died on Saturday. He was 27 years old.

According to a statement from Perdomo’s publicist to Variety, the actor died in a motorcycle accident.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the untimely passing of Chance Perdomo following a motorcycle accident. Authorities said no other people were involved,” the statement said.

“His passion for the arts and his insatiable appetite for life were felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will live on in those he loved most. We ask that you respect the family’s wish for privacy as they grieve the loss of their beloved son and brother.

It is not yet clear where the motorcycle collision took place.

Perdomo, who was Anglo-American, was a rising star in Hollywood. He was best known for playing Ambrose Spellman in the Netflix series. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and the superhuman character Andre Anderson from The boys derivative series Generation V.

Executives at Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, both of which produce Generation Vexpressed their “sincere thoughts and support” to Perdomo’s loved ones.

The producers of Generation V called Perdomo “an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented artist, and, more than anything else, a very kind and charming person.”

“Even writing about him in the past tense makes no sense,” the producers said in a statement. “We are truly sorry to Chance’s family and mourn the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight.

Patrick Schwarzenegger, who plays Golden Boy, Perdomo’s best friend in Generation V, said the news of his co-star’s death “hurts.” A lot.”

“What a talented young actor and what a great friend – gone far too soon. It was a pleasure working with him at GenV,” Schwarzenegger wrote on X.

Actor Skye P. Marshall, who appeared alongside Perdomo in Chilling Adventures of Sabrinasaid she did not want to believe the news of Perdomo’s death.

On Instagram, Marshall shared a photo of her and Perdomo in formal attire and several behind-the-scenes clips of the late actor.

Marshall called Perdomo “a kind and precious man, extraordinarily gifted, highly intelligent, cuddle-loving, energetic and radiating force of nature, with a beautiful vibrant soul and a bright childish smile, moving to the beat of his own drum.” »

“I am in a state of shock and devastation, like so many others,” she wrote. “I’m not ready to deal with this pain.”

Marshall said his last words to Perdomo were a text saying “I love you!!”

She added: “And he knew it.”

Several other actors and colleagues from Perdomo’s various projects also shared their condolences and praise for the actor’s talent and warm spirit.

Many of Perdomo’s fans pointed out a social media post the actor made last month, in which he shared a photo of his motorcycle with the caption #backontheroad.

Following the death of Perdomo, the production of Generation V’Season 2 has been delayed indefinitely. Table reads for the series were set to begin this month, with Perdomo expected to direct the new episodes.

It’s too early to say if the scripts for the new season of Generation V will be rewritten or if Perdomo’s role will be recast.

Alongside his television successes, Perdomo was also known for playing Landon Gibson in the film After movie franchise.
